# Kinetik MCP Connector for ChatGPT

Kinetik for ChatGPT creates social media content in your brand straight from a ChatGPT conversation: images, carousels, short videos and media projects of several posts for one goal. You see the results in an interactive view inside the chat. Kinetik keeps everything you make, so you can find it again from any chat.

## What you can do

Try asking:

## How to connect

Kinetik is a ChatGPT plugin. Add it on ChatGPT on the web; it then works in your chats.

1. In ChatGPT, open [**Plugins**](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), search for **Kinetik** and install it.
2. Click **Connect** and sign in to your Kineto account.
3. Review and approve the access requested.
4. In a chat, pick **Kinetik** with `@` or just ask, for example "show me what's trending".

**Adding it by URL** (before Kinetik appears in the directory, or for testing):

1. Open [**Plugins**](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), click **+** and choose **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Enter the name **Kinetik**, and under **Connection** the server URL `https://kineto.app/api/charms/mcp-kinetik`.
3. Choose **OAuth** for authentication and leave the client ID and secret empty: Kinetik registers ChatGPT automatically.
4. Read the warning, click **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**.
5. Install the plugin, then sign in to Kineto when asked.

On a Business or Enterprise workspace, an admin may have to allow custom MCP servers first.

To publish or analyze your own account, connect it when Kinetik asks. Kinetik shows a connection card in the chat. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account, and its sign-in page is provided by Composio.

## What data is shared

When you use Kinetik in ChatGPT, Kineto receives:

* the requests ChatGPT sends to Kinetik's tools, such as your brief, the platforms and the style;
* the files you attach for a post;
* the access you approved and the authorisation tokens.

Kinetik sends back what it made, its status and links to your files. Links open only for you, signed in to Kineto.

Kinetik does not receive your other ChatGPT conversations, files or memory. It sees only what is sent to its tools.

Content is made by Kinetik's AI model providers and stored in your Kineto account, as described in the [Privacy Notice](https://kineto.app/legal/privacy-notice). Nothing is posted to a social account unless you confirm it. OpenAI processes the data it receives under its own privacy policy.

## How to disconnect

* **In Kineto:** Settings → Personal → Connectors → Disconnect.
* **In ChatGPT:** open [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins) and remove or uninstall Kinetik.

Content you made stays in your Kineto account until you delete it.
